Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson, two actors well-known for playing the male models in the 2001 hit “Zoolander,” pulled off a great publicity stunt during Paris Fashion Week to promote their upcoming film. Stiller and Wilson walked the runway of the Maison Valentino fashion show to promote their upcoming sequel, “Zoolander 2.”
The audience could not believe their eyes and ears when they heard an abrupt change in music as Stiller and Wilson strutted their way down the runway in Valentino and proceeded to throw their blazers off at the end of the catwalk. Refinery29 believes that the stunt was meant to poke fun at the fashion industry while also giving Stiller and Wilson a chance to promote their upcoming movie roles. Everyone seemed to take it lightheartedly, especially Valentino, who “encouraged the nonsense,” according to AdWeek.
At the end of the show, Stiller and Wilson even made sure to get their photo opportunity with Vogue’s Editor-in-Chief, Anna Wintour. Stiller and Owen successfully used a unique approach to promote their film and announce “Zoolander 2.”
